Boss OC-2 Octaver Noise Issue

I own one of the original OC-2 pedals with the "Octaver" label. It's in pretty great shape, it sat in a box unused for many years, was never gigged with until I got a hold of it a few years ago. While the sounds the effect produces work okay, I noticed recently that it produces some extra unwanted noise in both bypass and engaged modes. It's like this quiet, underlying, super fuzzed-out tone with high sustain, probably would go unnoticed by most in a full band setting. Full disclosure I'm relatively new to effects, but my gut tells me it may be a grounding issue...? Thoughts? Effect chain order as follows: bass>octave>fuzz>filter>delay.

How are you powering it? Those old Boss pedals run on 12V. I don't know if that's your problem but worth a look. You can get around this by daisy chaining it with a newer 9V Boss or by running it @ 12V.

It's currently daisy-chained to other non-Boss 9V pedals using a 9V adapter, been using this setup for a while now and up until a few weeks ago has seemed to work okay.

If you have a spare wall wart somewhere, try powering it by itself and see if this goes away.

I just starting having the same issue with my old octaver pedal. When i first got it, it was fine, now when it's engaged the sound off my bass become slightly distorted and broken up.
