Not sure if this has been done before and this would make for a good poll I am sure, but I am just curious to know what pedal brand for bass (or guitar as well) the TB community prefers? I have always seemed to prefer Boss pedals myself. Sure I also like other pedals as well like the Bass Big Muff Pi, but I am asking between Boss and DigiTech.

Boss or DigiTech?

Each have their own merits. I have 2 Boss pedals on my board (OC-2 and TU-2) and no Digitech currntly.
Digitech has the Whammy Pedal, TimeBender Delay(really good, I used to own it), lots of fans on here for the BSW, plus more.
Boss has a few gems too.

I have 2 Boss pedals (OC-2 + LS-2) and 2 Digitech pedals (Bass Whammy & Jamman Solo)

The answer is 'neither'. But if I had to choose from only those two, Digitech's higher end line, Hardwire, would be the way to go.

i have some boss pedals, they do the job. i have some digitech. I like them but im not a fan of their digital overdrives and fuzzes. modulation works great though.
I have a Digitech BP355 Multieffect Unit and a Boss GT-10B and they are worlds apart. The BP355 actuallu gets more play as its easier to program and easy to carry. But the Boss has SOUNDS FOR DAYS. Great quality on both so what everyone is saying is correct "Big Mac vs. The Whopper."
As I expected there would be some who would respond along the lines of "apples to/or oranges" or BK to McD's like it did. Sure DigiTech may make something Boss does not and vise versa so if you want it you go that brand. I guess I could of been clearer, I was mainly asking what TB users prefer along the lines of both make chorus and overdrive pedals for example, which brand do you prefer?

I tend to prefer some of their vintage units (BF-2 or PH-1R) for example but some of their current pedals can be very good as well. I own their CE-5 Chorus (yes, I know some have a ditital clock on them) and the ODB-3 overdrive.
The CE-5 is flat out the best chorus I have found after testing many and the ODB-3 is quite good if you are pairing it with an SVT and are willing to work with it.

Can't be answered. There are so many great pedals available, any of them are better than Boss or Digitech. Even the Hardwire stuff is on a different planet than Digitech. Way Huge, DMB, Wren & Cuff, Aguilar, Darkglass, Fuzzrocious, just way too many to name.
Seems more of a pedal-by-pedal kind of thing to me, rather than a blanket brand preference. That said, I have no current Digitech pedals. I have three Boss- AF-3 (not too happy with it, it's not on my board), BF-3 (pretty happy with it), and the discontinued OC-2 (very happy with it).
I find Digitech's (Bass) Synth Wah & (Bass) Chorus way better than BOSS'.
Their Bass Overdrive is pretty decent.

I use boss effects way more...love them though i don't keep my board full of them. Some might not like that they aren't true bypass but I think it's good to have some buffered pedals. Digitech does have some good stuff though, especially their whammy pedal, no one beats them in that market.

My perception is that I've seen more Boss pedals on the pedalboards of pros as opposed to Digitech, but I could be wrong. But that perception would certainly influence my decision as I were trying out specific effects between them.
I'm not currently using either one, but that's not because there's anything wrong with them. If I were a touring pro I think it would be a smart move to use either of these brands of pedals (assuming they sounded good to me) as they are much easier to replace than a boutique pedal.
So I guess my answer is tie between both. Choosing first on a case by case basis per the sound effect and if all things are equal I'd probably choose the one in the color I like best and if all things are equal after that... probably Boss

I generally prefer Boss, though digtech has a few pedals that i think are better than their Boss counterparts. However, i think the physical design of digitech pedals are really not that great, mainly the battery access and lack of features in general.
