Boss RC-2 Loop Pedal

First, for the search nazi's, let me say that I did a search. RC-2 doesn't work because it's 3 characters, and the words 'Boss' and 'Loop Pedal' yield too much stuff to wade through.

I'm looking at getting this loop pedal and wonder if anyone has experience with it regarding how long you can make a single loop? I'm looking to loop the changes to jazz standards and ideas I have so I can improvise over them. Boss info says up to 16 mins, but how does that lay out? Could I do a 3 min loop?

Also, If I have two or three Boss pedals, how can I go about powering all of them simultaneously? I'm not into going through a ton of batteries and having to buy three adapters would rather suck also...

Boss makes three pedals that I know of that can power up to 6 other Boss-like pedals with a daisy chain connector. Those are the TU-2 tuner, the LS-2 looper/line switcher, and the old PSM-5, which is also a looper pedal (just one loop, though)

There are other pedals that will power Boss-type 9-volt pedals as well, like the Planet Waves chromatic tuner. Boss pedals are generally the easiest to power as pretty much any power supply or pedal that can power others uses the Boss-type plugs.

I have used a looper for practicing to short chord progressions, but I would not recommend it for working with long jazz standards when the above tools are available. Biab is great. You can change the tempo, change the chords, play different sections, and you can have it so that it plays through the song with the melody and then without the melody so you can play the melody through the first time and then solo the next time. You can turn the bass part on or off, and you can have different instruments playing the melody.

In fact, I should be doing that right now, what am I doing sitting here again when I should be practicing. I was only going to pop in for a moment and here I am writing this long message...
