Sorry to drudge up an old thread, but I just can't seem to make up my mind between the Line 6 X2, and the Brace Audio.

In a club band, so long distance is not an issue. (I just want more freedom on stage, and ability to walk in front of stage for sound checks.) Neither is price, since I can get them both for the same price.

I have heard great things about both units, and a few bad, although the Line 6 has been around a lot longer, so more feedback.

Is the (or should it be) 900mhz vs. the 2.4ghz frequency a big deal here in the USA? Does it have any real-life effect on performance?

It's almost as if it comes down to transmitter batteries, for me (will plug in receiver). For most reviewers, the Line 6 9v batteries last longer, but cost more than the AA Brace Audio transmitter batteries. So it's six of one and a half-dozen for the other, at this point.

Personally, I'd get the X2, if anything for the additional range it has over the Brace... Regarding battery life, spend a few bucks up front and get a pair of Hitech rechargeables and a charger - they'll pay for themselves in no time... I figured it to be after 16 shows my rechargeables would be at the break even point vs what I was spending on Duracell 9v - I'm now at about 30 shows, and my Hitechs are still going strong... I can do (two) 10pm-2am shows on one charge with the Hitechs...

GET the BRACE!!! I have used almost every brand out there and I had the oppertunity to do a side by side comparision of the X2 and Brace......X2 better distance (100' brace; 200' X2), Battery life....BRACE (6-8 hrs; X2 1-1/2hrs-3hrs), TONE.....BRACE, the cleanest and clearest tones. It does NOT color your sound at all. Ease of use...BRACE...plug in and go....
Just another opinion and my 1-1/2 cents worth.

I have to question some of this - for starters, I've never heard of anyone getting only 1.5-3 hours of battery life with the X2, it's usually atleast 5 hours minimum... Next, there is no sound difference between the two - I've A/B'd them, and noticed no difference, as have others... Lastly - they're BOTH "plug and play", so how can you call that one an advantage towards Brace???

How does the Brace wireless work with fairly high output basses? My PV Millenium is HOT, and there is no trim pot inside to tame it down. I have an older Senn digitial wireless unit, and even with the gain all the way down on the beltpack, I can overdrive it.
