We all know that (rock n roll) professionals never use sheets on stage....(2:15)

We are regularly being told (even by a lot of bass players) that bass players don't use picks....

I saw Frank Sinatra reading lyrics from a floor monitor screen.
Could've sworn I saw Sir Paul McCartney use a pick at least once.... or maybe twice?
