Pete, I'll add that if at Brett's age he recovers slowly, isn't that all the more reason to have the surgury ASAP? That is if you ARE a team player.

Welker cared enough for his teammates to want to be there. Farve doesn't.

All I know is I would be PISSED OFF if I were a Viking and I had to put up with this crap. Let's just find another QB and be done.

He better not be coming back next year. His contract is done and we better not try to get him again. Spend some money, get a QB who's under 30 and build for the FUTURE, not the past.

Damn Vikings. I don't know why I keep watching them.

Here folks is a good example of Gard "shifting on the fly" to make a point. Usually he attributes the loss to Favre. To prove what a chump he thinks AP is, it appears that now it was AP who fumbled away the game.

As for me, it was more about New Orleans winning the game than anyone on Minnesota losing it. I wonder how Gards heros would feel if they knew he was telling everyone that Favre and/or AP lost the NFCCG rather then the Saints players and coaches going out there and taking the game.

I know that Reggie isn't the focus of the offense. My point is that AP is not a "fumble machine", and is, and will always be a real and legitimate offensive threat for the Vikings, something you seemed to dismiss.

My local team is the Bucs, and if they win more than 5 games this season I'll be happy.

Gard may or may not be "shifting on the fly" but AP being a fumbler is still valid. Earlier in the thread it was insinuated that "all those other weapons" including AP could carry the Vikes O without Farve.

Why didn't all those "other weapons" do so and beat the Saints?

We'll see. I suspect the reason New Orleans will have won the game will depend on which Steeler player you are upset with that week. :D

When the Steelers win, it will be just that, a Steeler win. No one will have given us the game. Especially an excellent team like New Orleans. They aren't the type to give away games. Too many good players and coaches on that sideline.

You could say that....But nobody gave New Orleans the Indy SB did they?

Bottom line is the Vikes whupped my guys, no doubt, but more often than not they got away with risky and or "last second" heroics. You needn't look any further than the SF game that Farve "barely" won with a Hail Mary. SF was supposed to have gotten stomped by the All Powerful Vikes team and they hung in there.

A few of those "lucky breaks" go the other way and the Vikes are a sub .500 club last year.

One bad pass - or one fumble - doesn't really lose a game. It's the cumulative play of a team throughout the game.

They play 60 minutes, and the score has to be close enough for one play to make a difference.

Peterson puts the ball on the ground too much. Favre threw a pick. Both are facts.

"Giving the game away' is not a statement of fact, it's a totally subjective viewpoint which is unique to the individual who holds it. They may express that personal opinion...but if they assert it to be a fact, they can expect disagreement. It's not a fact, it's an opinion.

We all know that Favre threw that last game so that he could have some ammunition for his latest "Will I/Won't I" fiasco. I'm not even sure he was ever injured. I mean think about it...how many times did you actually see him even limping? And my mother's sister's cousin's baby daddy works in the Vikes front office, and he said that Favre has been constantly undermining the coaching staff's efforts to bring AD's fumbles down. Then he decides to come back when three of "the guys" come down to get him, so he can further propagate that "good ol' boy" image. Soon as he does, Percy Harvin collapses into a heap, writhing in pain. Coincidence? I think not.

Aah, that's more like it :p
