I am looking to mod my MIM Fender Jazz Bass. I wanted to put a Bad Ass Bridge 2 on it but EVERYWHERE seems to be out. Some places have said that they have not seem them around in awhile. So I didi some checking and found that this Hipshot is supposedly a good replacement. Please check the link below and let me know if any of you have heard of this model or have used it? Let me know what you think. Thanks to all who answer.

That hipshot is not a five screw drop-in replacement. You'll have to drill to get it to work.

I sound like a broken record but for anyone looking for a high-mass five screw fender drop-in replacement, IMO you can't do any better than the Invalid Link Removed model. I replaced the Badass II in my Palaedium with one of these and it was the best thing ever for that bass. Not cheap, but IMO they are the absolute best high mass Fender drop-in replacement on the market.

I had a BAII on my mid-70s Fender Precision. I recently replaced it with a Gotoh 203, since I want to get back to a more stock sound/appearance. The 203 is a bent plate bridge, kind of like the stock bridge, just a little heavier.

I've used the Gotoh 201 on a Squire 70s Vintage Modified J, and it's a good bridge. Buzzardsbass.com also sells what is essentially a Gotoh 201 for about half the cost. It's called the OEM Deluxe. Invalid Link Removed The Gotoh 201 is about $40, and the buzzardsbass version is about $22). I've got the buzzardsbass bridge on an SX, and can tell no difference between it and the Gotoh 201. So if you don't want to spend a lot of money, I'd recommend either of those.

The BA II is a nice bridge, but I really can't tell any difference between it and the Gotoh 201 in terms of tone or sustain.
