Bridge advise needed

I recently purchased a Fender Jazz Bass, American Series for my son, the one for $999.00, not the $1,600. It's very nice. Problem is he lost a screw and spring out of the bridge. I went to where he purchased Iand got a replacement from All-Parts but the screw is smaller and so is the spring. It doesn't affect the playability, but it just drive me nuts. I went of Evil-bay and bid on a bridge from the reliable "Fender" guy because the picture was the exact match. He sent me a cheap, off-shore bridge, nothing like the pic. I wont give his name because I don't want to bash. Anyway, I emailed him and he won't respond. Whats my next step? I just want a screw and spring of the same size to match whats there. Any advise?

You might try calling Fender directly, they should be willing to send you the part if you can give them a S/N for your bass.

If that doesn't work, you could also try and call Hipshot. They make a lot of direct-replacement bridges and they might have the saddle screw and spring that matches your bridge just right.

You're a pretty cool dad to be buying your son a bass of that caliber, tell him Anthony said he should remember how cool his dad is every day :)

I'm pretty sure he didn't take it apart, the saddle was still under the string. I think it must have been loose and fallen off. I torn the house apart, but no avail. He got his Eagle Scout award before he turned 14, so I said I'd buy him something nice. Lucky for me they just got that Bass in the store and not the more expensive one. I'll try calling Fender tomorrow. Thanks
