Are you talking about the Ampeg Baby Bass from the 1960's? The Baby Bass bridge was an intricate die-cast aluminun part, with a molded rubber strip across the top. Unfortunately, they were fragile. If you dropped it, it would break and couldn't be repaired. Many of the Baby Basses around today are missing the original bridges, and your chances of finding one on the parts market are about zero.

To replace them, most Baby Bass owners make up a maple bridge, similar to an upright bass bridge. They work pretty well, although the tone isn't quite the same as the original aluminum bridge.

About 12 years ago I developed a replacement bridge for the Baby Bass. It was made from maple with four adjustable aluminum saddles on top. It worked well. I made about 20 of them for customers, and they liked them. But it wasn't a financially viable product, and I was too busy with my own instrument lines, so I stopped. I still have the tooling and drawings stored away, but I'm not interested in making any more.

I don't believe anyone currently makes replacement Baby Bass bridges, other than hand made custom parts. You could check with Kris at KK Basses in England, or with Rivera in Puerto Rico.

You use maple bridges on your M.O.G basses, right? Can you custom fit one to fit the Baby Bass?

i bought an Ampeg scroll bass fretted , without the bridge; and i need one replacement for it.

I just sent you an e-mail. I don't have any of these bridges in stock, and it would take me a while to get to making one up for you. My working life is very busy right now. But I quoted you a price.

I also have the bridge and saddles drawn up in AutoCad, and I'm willing to e-mail you the drawing, if you want to find a local machine shop to make one up for you.

For reference, here's what the bridge assembly looks like. I have an AEB-1 apart on my bench right now.
