Brightest Flatwood Strings?

Got the rotosound 77 50-110 two days ago, and they are killers!they are exactly what i was looking for, lets see how they will sound after a week.. im tuning a whole step down so the tension is perfect for me and they feel great as well ...thank you for ur help
I recently bought another Fender P bass that was just set up with a new set of D'Addario Series 11 Stainless Half Rounds and they are so good I am leaving them on to see how long they last. I play at least 2 hours a day so they get a workout. They maintain the clarity, growl and punch on the low end but feel like flats.
From what I have experienced with them, I may put them on my other bases as well.

One reason why the roto flats are bright (as flats go), is simply that they're not actually very flat. That's a problem for me, as I pluck with my fingernails (having grown up playing classical). Roundwounds wear my fingernails down, and (to a lesser extent) so do the roto flats.
(Just mentioning it cos we don't know why the OP is looking to go to flats.)

I think the reason for the brightness of the Rotosound flats is the Copper content of the strings.
GHS Pressurewounds for the almost roundwound/almost flat sound. Pretty cool IMO. My buddy swears by them.. here he is playing a bass solo in California some night

I don't know if they are the brightest but I have been using Ernie Balls round wound and I like them a lot. They are brighter then Thomasticks for example and have a nice amount of zing particularly when new. I also like the fact that you can choose how heavy or light you want them. Thomastick only come in one size when it comes to round wound and I often wish the G string would come in a heavier gauge.
That being said the Thomastick offer a great feel and a great tone so I tend to go back and forth between the two brands.
Anyways, back to your original question. I find them quite bright for round wound strings.

My first flats were Chromes, then I tried Sadowsky. The Sads are brighter because they are stainless. Almost nickel round bright IMO.
