British vs. American

British or US amps?

As someone with both British and US citizenship, I have no problem alternating between a Trace Elliot and a Mesa for bass, and a Marshall and a Mesa for guitar.

The key difference is that we Americans like to give our amps plenty of raw power, whereas we British prefer an adequate power rating.

My 100 British watts seem to be about as loud as my 600 American watts ....
 
I'm British and use a Peavey T-Max head and Peavey 210 TVX cab. The guitar players in the bands I'm in use British (Orange, Marshall) and German (Hughes & Kettner) amps, which lends support to the "bass - USA / guitar - UK" idea posted earlier. Maybe expand it to "bass - North America / guitar - Europe"? ;)
