Broken Pickup toggle

I have a traben chaos, J / H pickup config.. Recently I noticed that using the pickup toggle to blend in the Humbucker just makes it go silent... I opened up the back and noticed a red wire seems to be loose from the blend pot... (sorry, no pics, my ipad is being a douche atm)..

Anyway, since there is virtually no slack with the wire, and its somewhat recessed, it would be incredibly difficult to solder it myself...

Any suggestions? :P

Hey Tobo, it should be possible to fix that up. You could remove the blend pot from the control cavity to free up some slack. Soldering should be a bit easier at that point and you could even add a short jumper wire if required. Install the blend pot back in your bass and you're good to go.

Although not ideal, extending the cable is a get our of jail free card. This can be done by soldering an extra bit of wire to the end. Or you could use some inline molex connectors or use strip board. To be honest there are a million ways you could do it.

Thanks guys :)

Mmm.. wasnt hugely keen on removing the pot, as it would mean taking off the good wire, but i suppose if im soldering anyway it doesnt really matter!

Out of curiousity - why is extending the wire not ideal?
