I actually thought My Little Dashie was overrated. Partly because it was I felt it ludicrous to imagine the ponies in our world. But I really thought the plot was predictable. I didn't dislike it, but it wasn't the tearfest others says it is.

For my fic recommendation, Sunset by Ciroton:

Invalid Link Removed

This piece of literature forced me to stay up til 2 a.m. It is so wonderful. I don't know why it isn't more popular. I suppose people are driven away because of the "dark" tag and the picture, but that picture is what made me want to read it. You should read it because of the pure emotion through it.

I liked it so much I recently decided to write a song for it. It will consist of five movements align to the distinct emotional juxtaposition throughout.

Movement 1 Demo:



I actually think it is really rough. It will either be revised or rewritten. Some opinions from fellow musicians would be helpful and appreciated.

Fanfic recommendations? Here we go:

Invalid Link Removed (Pen Stroke & Batty Gloom) - infamous, but actually quite good. A classic.
Invalid Link Removed (Jetfire) - Epic adventure fic. One of the classics.
Invalid Link Removed (Ciroton) and its sequel, Invalid Link Removed - One of my top favorite fics. A must read.
Invalid Link Removed (Stonershy) - Definitely one of my favorite fics. Read it. Now. NOW!
Invalid Link Removed (shortskirtsandexplosions) - This one takes the top spot. Longfic is really, really long, but worth every minute of reading. As far as fanfics go, EoP is perfection. I can't recommend this one enough.
Sisters (bassofthe) - Shameless self plug. Princest clop, if you're into that sort of thing. PM for link.
Invalid Link Removed (midnightshadow) and its upcoming sequels - Another top pick. I have a particular fondness for this one. Must read.
Invalid Link Removed (That 1 Guy) - It's not that long yet, but it shows promise.
Wheller's massive series. I mean, really, this stuff is HUGE. Here is his Invalid Link Removed. Highly recommended.
Invalid Link Removed (Varanus) - Perfection. Known for taking very long between updates, but well worth the wait.
Invalid Link Removed (Municipal Engines) - I really love this one.
Invalid Link Removed (ImJustAnotherBrony) - An interesting read. Well written.
Invalid Link Removed (Wanderer D) - Pretty epic. Highly recommended reading.
Invalid Link Removed (Conner Cogwork) and its sequel, Invalid Link Removed - Another classic.
Invalid Link Removed (Corejo) - Yet another great fic.
Invalid Link Removed (Samsara) - A good read.
Invalid Link Removed (Sapidus3) - Great fic, but it hasn't been updated in quite a while.
Invalid Link Removed (GaaruSpike & Beige Monkfish) - A Twilight-becomes-an-alicorn story that actually works
Invalid Link Removed (device heretic) - Read this. Now. One of the best works ever written.
Invalid Link Removed (Daetrin) and its sequel Invalid Link Removed - Interesting stories.

These are only my top picks, I might even have forgotten some. If you want more, just ask, but be specific with what you want. I do read quite a bit.

Yeah I guess I'm too old to "get" dubstep and such. I don't mind techno, but I just found a lot of dubstep to be inharmonious and unmelodious...totally IMO though. Every time I say I'm not into it, people say "Oh well you just have to listen to GOOD dubstep..like Skrillex"...and that's when I go "Uhhh...got anything else?" lol.

I don't think your too old. I think you just have good tastes. I'm in high school and I think the music is crap. Not as bad as mainstream rap, though.

One of my main things I have against the electronic I've listened too is how repetitive it is. They take up a half of the song to repeat the same non-harmonious melody or some random noise to a drum beat that gets annoying.
