@jacoby75, if you want to spare the DIY, the Naiant VPDs are the highest-quality inline attenuators I know of and perfect for tasks like this. I've had great luck with them. I particularly like that they're stepped.

Which one of these would be best for a really hot pedal? I'm guessing in between instrument and line level?

I mainly use mine to connect the XLR outs on my little Ampeg PF-20T to the inputs or fx return jacks of one of my more powerful class D amps.

I haven't noticed any degradation of sound.

Which class D amps do you use with your PF-20T? I use Markbass LM 3. It features Xlr input...

So the P-15's and SSDI's are just sitting there waiting for buyers. Clearly this is due to the handles, the old handles moved much quicker, Josh could not keep them in stock. If you could pick these up and retro fit the handles you could sell them for $550 OBO

I bought a Quilter BB800 for this purpose. But I actually like the tone better than the PF-20T! So my PF-20T isn't getting much love these days.

There's also no good way to stack them. The Quilter is too small to balance the Ampeg on top of it.
