V2: mute footswitch, boost (footswitcheable), high input impedance (10MOhm), two mids frequencies, separate gain/line/DI level controls, phase switch, buffered tuner output
V3: on/off switch, aux input, headphones output
Yep I see that now. I bought the original V1 messenger and I didn't realize there was an updated version of that. I like this new V2 version I just bought a lot better. Smaller and simpler with almost all the same functionality.
I know it's just terminology...but, IMHO, the "revisions" were material enough to warrant separate number...
Finally! Opted for a Messenger instead of an RFE (my feeble attempts at acquisition seemed to always fail miserably - LOL). The messenger will round up my simple FlavorBoard nicely (Terraformer>SVPre>SD>Messenger) and provide easier integration with amps, live mixers and DAWs.
Personally, I prefer the V2 but I'm sure I'll be happy with the V3.
The switch is internally configurable to either defeat eq (default) or mute
I keep mine eq off/on, so I can run it as a standalone headphone amp, downstream after everything
I wonder which versions (v1, v2, v3) have the internal switch option.
I purposely got the v1 because I prefer the Eq on/off over Mute, and now that I have a v3 on the way, would chose that over Mute.

First 2 revisions don't have a internal switch. First model had a boost footswitch and eq bypass footswitch, version 1.2 had a boost footswitch and a full mute footswitch. Josh made v2 switchable internally, the footswitch enables what selection is switched to

I just noticed that the EQ range on the mid knob on the new Messenger is from 100 - 1000 Hz. What's the chance that Josh could change this to be 200 - 2000 Hz like he has it on the RFE? I much prefer having more high mids available than extending it down to 100 Hz which seems redundant since the bass knob is affecting 80 Hz and lower.
