Right now I tethered to a desk, so it's perfect for me, its smaller and heavier than I expected. But I do get it, in a live situation a pedalboard or rack setup would be tough, but I've had similar heads like Quilter, GK, Mark bass and even my Power Station just sit atop a cabinet, so I'm assuming that would work. Only time will tell. There does look to be some promise on the side for ears, with the correct hardware future parts could be made

Heck, for the tone that I can only imagine emanates from it, I'd just duct tape it to the top of a power amp. But rack ears would be preferred.

Disagree. The form factor is perfect (I think) for my Mesa D-800+. The standard lunch box is ok but doesn’t match or stack with my amp. Also Nobody (well perhaps a few, I’ve seen it) puts it on their board. Rack mount? What is this 1995?

Yeah. I have the version where the wet 1/4 out was added.
I assumed this was the place to ask questions.

I have received my Fliptop Boost.

Sounds really good with loads of boost on hand. I found that it would work best in a live environment using an amp (something I dont really do anymore - I primarily use IEMs). When I lower the input gain on my Subway D-800+ then use the FT Boost to "make up" the volume I really like it. Definitely adds a fatness/warmth to the tone and I can hear a subtle roll off of highs.

That being said, I may be passing it along since I really have no use for it. In a parallel sidenote, I may be putting up my D-800+ for sale soon as well (for the same reason).

But....those that use an amp regularly and got in on the FT Boost sweepstakes, you will be pleased!

The only thing I understand about the output is this, XLR is attenuated about 4 times than the 1/4" unbalanced output, they can be used in unison but the signal is cut down due to both outputs being used, I am not aware of there being a positive reason that he would intentionally keep from adding a earth lift when they first came available. That's what I mentioned he would probably be better at asking. Do you have another way to test for hiss other than what your sound rep is stating? that is the problem correct? possibly any headphone amp, or even small console with a phones out to check for noise?
