First impressions on the Archetype, EQ is really strong, small movements make a big difference, but never in a negative way, you can't trash the tone with too much or not enough of anything. The Bass is nice, and seems to change with the same progression as the treble, but the Mid is completely different in the way it effects the tone, in a really good way. The Treble isn't "crispy" at all when turned up, which I love. Gain/Master are amazing as well, there is so many variations of gain - master volume to be had, it can go from (close to) SSDI clean bold tone to full on drive, mucho variable. At first I didn't think I'd use the Boost, as I normally don't, because of the crispy thing, but this is nice, you can really drive the EQ a lot differently with the boost on verse off. You definitely have to adjust things if you turn it off though, there is no control, as it would be hard to do even do with a switched pedal. Like the Boost I didn't think I'd use the first depth switch, as its pretty thin, though I found this worked really nicely when using high gain. The other two positions are awesome, they remind me of, but arn't exactly the same as ultra low switches on my SVP-CL, but not so extreme. Really clean, quiet idle, no microphonics, sounds really good. Ive only had a few hours but do far the Monocomp, Fliptop(especially as a straight drive), Azure, RFE, and Sunray sound great straight into it. It does seem at first the output is less than the SSDI or P15, but by not much. I also haven't tried the 1/4 out, it could be much more. I'll try to get some clips up by this weekend hopsfully.
