It is a pricey one, and justifiably so. That's only a little more than I paid for it last year, but bizzniss is bizzniss. It's always a seller's market when it comes to Broughtons.
Got a nice surprise this morning and my HPF showed up! The last update was that it was in Chicago and scheduled to arrive next week. Score! I can't wait to play with this thing at my next show, it's a tough room with a raised wooden stage... tough to dial in, this should help!

Fliptop Boost is a winner so far. After a brief 15min experiment through headphones, placing it at a couple of different spots in the chain, running it at 9v and 18v, my favorite thus far is first in the chain at 18v. It seems to warm and tighten up the tone just a bit in all the right places. Feels a bit warmer and fuller at 18v than 9v, but that might be an auditory illusion. I seem to like most all of Josh's things better at 18 than 9v, for those that can take the voltage. And I like running it into the SVPre (among other things) way better than running the actual Fliptop into the SVPre. Makes the SVPre just a tad bit tighter and punchier. Running it after the SVPre was also sweet, and would probably be good to make the SVPre sound a bit edgier, as it seemed to open up the SV's tone a little bit, for lack of a better descriptor. It's a subtle, but delicious flavor enhancer.
...and that confirms it, I slept too long that morning. Cool writeup, looks more usable than the SVB, which seemed to be more of a clean mid boost than anything
I definitely think anyone getting one should try with headphones at first, its amazing the changes that take place with the smallest of adjustments. Folks were stating the Sunray obsolete, I want to go ahead and say not yet, the Archetype is probably more of my kind of breakup, but the drive is still smoother (not it a good/bad way) on the Sunray than Archetype, Archetypes grit has more burble than consistent tight grit that the SR does, both are applicable and stupid amazing though, I find myself using the SR into the SSDI the most though honestly
