Broughton Audio Super Thread

Yes, using it with drive pedals would be of obvious benefit. I can see that. But any drive pedals I use already have clean blends. (Though the ability to apply a clean blend and filters would yield additional benefits, no doubt). This is just one of those pedals that makes my head hurt. Too many possibilities.
It'll be a good utility pedal to keep on the shelf. :)

Can't wait to try it with my favorite drive: an OCD-style circuit. Bass retention isn't ideal, so the ability to fix that while also getting the cut and compression from that style of drive will be ideal (for me).

I recommend the Studio Boost
Yeah, ya'll with one keep it close, I traded mine out and couldn't sleep until I got it back. It doesn't work for everything, but for what it does, it does very well. I'm glad and grateful that one came back.

For folks questioning the Fxloop, I'm convinced after running a bloop its the only way I'm going to appreciate any heavy dirt/fuzz. Definition can finally be heard, lossless

It's most definitely useful if you have the space on your board and using effects that you'd like to use effects without affecting your fundamental, like reverb. I was tempted but refrained due to restrictions on my board and expenses.

Hmmm, now you got me thinking about creating an expansion board with spatial effects that I can add when needed, like an 'annex' board. Maybe next time I'll consider it more seriously.

Damn you @NKBassman

No gigs means no board right now. All my pedals are loose and easy to grab and patch without much fuss.
That being said, my only actual board is that small Gator one that I posted a picture of yesterday. I've been thinking of getting something a little bit bigger for when I go back to a more permanent setup.

Thinking of using the FxFL in combination with my Signal Blender is giving me migraines :)

Ain't that the truth.
Canada Post is ok I think, for those of us in Canada. But the last I heard it sounded like things with USPS are continuing to deteriorate. Increasing prices, decreasing level of service. Last time I did a trade here the pricing to ship to Canada was outrageous. Going to have to keep an eye on that for future purposes. Between shipping and exchange and tax and "handling fees", the cost of trading across the border is getting to be untenable.

That is interesting, I shipped an ETDI to Germany from the states and it was less than $25 usd

USPS still gets a better score than UPS or FedEx. Those guys loose and or damage almost everything.

My last trade was with @labeledbass and it cost him over $40 USD to get the box north of the border. Outrageous.

As far as I'm concerned USPS is the only viable option. UPS is the worst for tacking on extra fees. I've had bills upwards of 50% of the value of the pedal waiting for me at pickup.

Yea that's outrageous for sure! I asked around in different places as this was my first time shipping oversees, I am glad I went with USPS, in checking UPS and FedEx their prices were north of $100 for a 4x5x6 weighing a little over a pound!

UPS is ridiculous. I tried to ship a bass via USPS, but was told it was over their size limitations (I've shipped maybe two basses in my life, so what did I know?) And I got totally hosed on the shipping costs when I had to go with UPS. It was well over $100. Never again.

But, you get what you pay for. In my experience, at least, especially since Covid, UPS and FedEx have been FAR more reliable. And FedEx is super fast. Most things get to me in 2 days, regardless of where they're shipped from (in the US) by FedEx.

That's been my experience as well, and I order lots of items in my work. The US Postmaster General has hobbled USPS horribly, evidenced by many lost and extremely late packages. It did start with Covid, but got much worse after DeJoy took over last June.
