The Zoom and the Mooer are being replaced with an SA Spectrum and a DMC Micro. Should give me everything I need for FX. Everything else is always on!

I use both Solarian and Studio Boost, don't make me choose... I use the SB for clean only runs, OD and FET drive is ok too but I've found that running the Studio Boost into at least, tube circuits that provide breakup/grit, produces to much resonance. Definition gets a little locked out. But I use it with anything clean, even the SSDI which is AMAZING sounding together. The Solarian is genius in boosting tube circuits into drive, and for me following dirt pedals. I don't use it solely by itself, but if I need a quick boost or dip in highs I won't hesitate to use just for the quick EQ. Solarian only sounds good by itself if you're running high voltage and keep the gain out of the farts, some how it sounds poopoo by itself but with anything else amazing... maybe at super high gain its OK, haven't tried that yet. Both pedals together, SB following the Solarian sounds good, not too much to write home about though. I couldn't imagine not having the SB, but at the same time I can definitely see me NOT using it all the time, on the other hand with the EQ neutral I can leave the Solarian on all the time and not care.

They are both amazing pedals, no choosing will be had today, buy both

Is that setting correct on your H/LPF? is that all the time or for a specific application? really choking the tone. That's something I'd do before an octave

That’s pretty much how I run it. I use IEM’s, and a powered monitor when I need live sound. The LP helps tame the GIANT tweeter on my DSR112, cuts back on string noise, and cuts any harshness in the IEM’s. And it really makes my mids pop!

Wow, ok - I've been playing through phones for so long lately lol, I forget about how tweeters and horns get so crispy sometimes

Season," (this is meaningless, that is meaningless, everything . . . including all of this bass gear I've acquired . . . . is meaningless, a mere chasing after the wind), or what others may call a mid-life crisis. I decided to ditch the huge pedalboard and go back to my rack setup for those times when I may need the big amp again in the future
Dibs on ….. stuff.
After all of the buying and flipping over the past few years
Uncle Rick’s gear hound doppelgänger for the last “few years”.

I played two gigs now with just the Resonant Filter Equalizer (bass + RFE + Poweramp), and it was amazing. Full, tight, clear. Cut through the mix of the three piece blues band (first gig guitar player had a fender twin, second time a Marshall). I've had the RFE for about a year and didn't really get it. I couldn't find a place for it, and didn't dig the sound, and didn't understand the controls. But at full volume with a band, it was magic. I'm rethinking my entire set up. Maybe I'll retire the tube heads to the studio and keep using the RFE for blues and rock gigs. I'm curious if anyone else has tried going so bare-bones. I was shocked at how well I like it.

Passive bass or active? You’re using the RFE as your preamp?

No volume on the RFE, so I just turned the power amp down a hair to reach proper stage volume. I had a little more headroom if I cranked the power amp on full, but that would max the volume - which would be pretty loud - but I would have nowhere to go from there. But again, it wasn’t an issue. One gig was indoors, one was outdoors. The 500 watt power amp was plenty for both gigs.

I’m gonna try that with my Simone 500.

For my set up I turned the treble side quite a bit to tame the highs. It was pretty bright but the rest of the RFE was close to flat. Small tweaks for tone.

again, it was only in the band setting that made this work for me. Messing with it at hone I much prefer my tube amps, but with the band at full volume it was awesome.
