Brubacker Brute vs Lakland Skyline

Pardon me if we have had this discussion before, but I am contemplating getting one of these and cant decide.
You know you have the Chinese Brutes vs the Korean Skyline with the known brand electronics. I live in Australia so the prices of these are considerably higher then you guys in US pay so the decision becomes a little harder to make as it costs you more.
Are they a similar sound? What about the quality of the work done on each model? Has anybody got both? I have not played anything fom China in such a long time so I dont know if there quality has improved from 5 years ago.
This bass would be my performing and recording bass and I mainly play modern R&B stuff.
Cheers for the help in deciding.

the brubaker kills for modern R&B and they are available in australia already!

ive A/B tested a brute up against a MTD and i thought that in terms of feel, tone and looks, the brute was extremely competitive! great for the modern gospel sound. if you ignored the fact that it has parts from china, and pretended it was 100% US made, i'd be happy to spend $2500-3400 on the brute. coming from china only makes it better value hence why they are under $1200AU

check out Invalid Link Removed as they are the sole australian dealers of brubakers.
