Great tips Lo-E, I'll check 'em out. Maby/Thomas (and Bruce Foxton and Andy Rourke, Colin Moulding) sort of define this energetic pop bass style that I love. Started with McCartney I guess...it is always about playing the song through countermelody first and foremost.
P-bass is correct. I don't know what he used for amps, but he was well-known for playing a salmon pink P-bass with a rosewood board.Anyone know what type of gear he was using? Sounds like a p bass to me but wasn't sure about the rest...
