He says it’s from 2001
Mine came with barts but it’s a 04 and has the midrange switch. I thought the earlier ones without the mid switch had Ibanez pickups. Also as far as I know a btb made in Japan with those woods was the btb1005 prestige.
Thanks Dr. Cheese, your threads have cut deeply into my practice time since I discovered this siteI am no BTB expert, I will differ to you.
Thanks Dr. Cheese, your threads have cut deeply into my practice time since I discovered this site. As far as the BTB goes, looking at Ibanez site it’s legit. I have no experience with sire basses so I’m no help there. Reverb has had similar BTBs listed around $600. View attachment 3701472
Saw an Ibanez btb 1005 prestige for sale locally. My question was if it was really a prestige and it’s worth. I had decided on a Marcus Miller m7 5 string. Which bass would be “better”?View attachment 3701429View attachment 3701430View attachment 3701431View attachment 3701432View attachment 3701433View attachment 3701429 View attachment 3701430 View attachment 3701431 View attachment 3701432 View attachment 3701433View attachment 3701429View attachment 3701430View attachment 3701431View attachment 3701432View attachment 3701433
That is not a Prestige. A real Prestige from that era would have American Bartolini electronics and different tuners.

A Prestige Ibanez, with an Ibanez hardshell case, for $750?!?? I'd be all over it...Thank you for all the input! It’s priced at 750 with an included Ibanez hard shell case. He says it’s in pristine condition. Now my final question is would be the best bang for my buck? Or are there any other recommendations for that price point?
