Budget 6 string bass

I second the B-206SM LTD, it is an AMAZING bass for how cheap it is. Of course, it depends on what genre you want to play, the LTD is good for harder rock/metal/solo classical stuff. It's not great for funk or slap due to the pickups and string spacing though.

ESP LTD B206SM - awesome bass - can be found for <$350.

Oh sure! NOW you tell me after I forked over $400 for mine! Anyway mine has nicer looking spalting than the one in the photo. :spit:

It is an awesome bass, however. And for the record the B string is terrific. Its a very modern looking and sounding bass. Heavy though.

The B strings are terrific on both my Ibanez too. The worst B string I ever had was on my Fender Jazz V. (best is on my Modulus). And given I own an Alembic, Ken Smith, Carvin and three G&Ls I like to think I know a bit about what good B strings sound and play like.

But as I said before the B string and C string are a tad weak on the GSR206. I presume because the pickup doesn't cover the strings properly. But a bit of treble and bass boost compensates nicely. My SR 506 does not have the problem. (but costs more) Remember both my Ibanez are older models.

My buddy has one of these with some custom Nordys and
a OBP3. It kicks astronaut... and he slaps it like Wayne Brady collecting money. (Dave Chapelle reference)

Thank you very much, what do you guys think of the Brice basses from rondo?

Hmm, how did I miss this question? Oh well, anyways, I love mine!

Get a brice bass play with the bass and then you can replace the pickups and the preamp later, It's not a big deal do that. I did for the first time and i really liked the results. Do not pay to replace this stuff, google it and do yourself and save money.
Get the bass Brice Defiant 6, It's the good ones they have now.

My Brice is the Z6 they don't sell it anymore.
Bellow a link I'm replacing the pup's and preamp.
Brice bass pup's

And last week i moved the Aguilar OBP3 to a jazz bass, and
i installed the Audere pro Z on it. The bass was really hot with aguilar now the bass sounds amazing with audere.

Why did you have to tell me that!?!?! I have an audere in my fav j bass ( sx sjb 75). Since you changed the pups and pre both, I know you can't give me a direct comparison, but as best you can guess, how did the audere change things from the stock z6 pre?

I can't answer that very clear, But i remember it was big jump
from stock Z6 pre to aguilar OBP3.
The stock z6 pre was very very cheap china stuff. ( they installed that just to sell the bass with knobs )

The Brice defiant looks like to have a nice pup's, so probably
you need to replace just the preamp.
If you want something cheaper and good.
Get bassmods preamp.
