Budget Acoustic Bass

I like my Kona (purchased from a friend who needed money, so I got to try it first…)

This is a great sounding acoustic bass and not too bulky... had one for a cpl years now. A little quiet when not amplified but better than most I've played in past.

I dig a Kramer Ferrington. You can pick one up on the bay for around 300.

I bought a dean EAB a while back from musicians friend for $150. The first one I recieved had a cracked heel block right out of the box. I sent it back. Sometime about a month later I finally recieved a replacement. All in all I am happy with the dean, but the electronics are poor. I would suggest some sort of preamp if you are going to plug it in. I like the fact that it is a 35" scale bass and has a pretty good tone unplugged.
