Bugera 1960

Sounds cool. Does not help my GAS for an aggressive punk tone to use in my band. I keep considering putting a smaller OD'd tube amp on top of my rig to supplement, but my next acquisition will probably be a gk 1001rb or 2001rb to rip it up with my Genz 610. After, I'll be looking at one of these mofo's for other uses. :D

The Bugera haters are out there but I tell you, this amp is amazing to me for what it is. It seems put together really well, there is even a bias adjust on the outside of the thing so it can be re-tubed and re-biased without taking it into a shop if you know what you're doing. The manual is quite clear and nice as well. I only put about $350 into the investment, but so far it feels like money well spent. On top of all this, it's really LOUD!!! It looks cool too. I like the amp. Maybe not a versatile, do it all kind of rig, but it's a freaking Sound City/HiWatt clone for sure at an incredible price. The haters will get me, but I tell you I really like mine. The Bugera 1960 is a good ROCK bass amp, IMO.

Hello all, new to this forum and been reading some of the comments about the Bugera 1960s guitar head and I will have to agree, this thing sounds pretty awesome. It's almost too good to be true. I tried mine out a practice last night trew a Ampeg 4x10 cab, WOW. Considering I only paid $250 and it has been re tubed with Electro Harmonix tubes. I did notice that low bass frequency shakes the tubes in the head and you can get a weird over tone but I just put a piece of bed foam under the head between the head and the cab.

Had one of these for about a month, sat on top of an Ampeg 810, it was LOUD. I couldn't even get it into distorting territory without disturbing the neighbors. Build quality was solid, tubes were cheap but they worked just fine. Considering you can find them for $300 used you can't beat the value.

Oh and it sounded good too :D
