I'm going to go out on a limb (not really) and say I don't believe the rep knew what he was talking about. The cabs are 8 ohm. That is shown in the picture above. If the rep was reading "impedence x ohms" he was looking at the original pics (possible artists renderings) from the Bugera web site and not one of the cabs in person. The only thing variable on the cab is the horn with has an attenuator on it for adjustment.

I'm wondering how much louder one of those might get if you took that grill off. I'll admit I'm not an acoustic engineer, but to my eye it appears that possibly 50% or more of the cone is BLOCKED. It may not make a difference, but sure seems like it would... at least with the upper range.

I just don't like the way they list these as 1000 or 1600 watts if its a 400 watt cab why not just say so? It's not like $249 isn't still a good price for a 400w 210!! Some dumb kid's gonna see the add and hook it up to a 500w+ head and blow the speakers cause he doesn't know any better!!!

...and not be covered under warranty, and have mom and dad either pay them to fix it or buy another...Bugeringer doesn't care, the marketing worked and they got the money.

Honestly, I think it is just as much on the retailers not giving a hoot if the products they sell meet spec, or have deceptive marketing.

meanwhile my $729 Mesa 210's are listed as 400W RMS... with two USA Eminence Ceramic drivers.

what does that tell you about the ethics of the one company vs. the other?

I'm admittedly not he sharpest tool in the shed! But it seems to me Bugera/Beheringer couldn't give a rat's about their customers and are just looking for the one time sale and a quick buck. The sad part of it is their stuff may not really be that all that bad but their business model is. Quick buck vs the long haul!! I don't see either name being spoken with "reverence" 20 yrs from now!!

LOL On TB some days you're the windshield, some days you're the bug! I've seen the tide go against Genz Benz, GK, Markbass, Ampeg, Fender, depending on the day, all of these amps are not being spoken with reverence.... but all companies are not perfect and people have genuine gripes...

I was looking at the New bugara stuff and it looks pretty good ? plywood, turbosound speakers, I don't get how some are saying particle board and junk? It says right in black n white plywood.
Do they hold the low end frequency well? anyone?

Just got the 2x10, ran it as an extension cab for my Eden Metro..cranked it up pretty loud, I believe that with the 8 ohm cab, the head is running a 4 ohms, with the internal speakers engaged. With both cabs (internal and Bugera) running, sounds pretty damn good..when turning off the internal speakers on the Metro, sounds...pretty good, loses some "thump", and some low mid. Also ran it as an extension cab for a 90's version SWR Working Man's 10, sounds really good..when run together with the Eden, definitely works great...for $250, I'm keeping it, and I will most likely add the 1x15 later, as the Eden can run all three. Build quality is excellent, a little heavy, but not ungainly..if you are looking for a pretty good cab that you want to pair with a lightweight head ( I have a TC BG250 combo, 2x10, wish it had an extension cab output, may add one myself) I would recommend this cab..say what you want about the company, and how they advertise, but this is a really good deal..of course, I reserve the right to change my mind after spending a couple weeks with it...

What kind of head are you running? The 2x10 sounds great as an extension cab for the Metro..I ordered the 1x15 today. I plan on getting a new head, either the Tech 21 VT 500 or the Bugera Veyron tube version..I'm seriously considering selling my TC BH250 2x10..after spending a week with the Metro with the new cab, I have realized that the TV has practically NO mids! The EQ set is super limited, and I hate that the amp has no separate cab out function. I have owned the 1x15 and 2x10 TC combos, and they don't stand up, timewise...pretty interesting, everyone gushes about these combos, but I can't get what I want out if them..
