I agree & own the same cabinet pictured. I addition to sounding as good or better, the AlumaBass has WAAAYYY more low end (and looking cooler) that either of the other aluminum coned cabs. The only downside is the 90+lbs weight!

Hear hear. I have two of these, they beat the harkte hands down in terms of power, low end en depth.

Too bad there isn't a choice for "harsh sounding doo doo no matter what name you put on it".

I don't think harsh describes them at all. I tried a bunch of hartke products when they were really popular, and even owned one for a bit. The tone wasn't my complaint at all. I didn't like the poor power handling abilty. Harsh doesn't even cross my mind, and seems to be a wrong perception of an aluminium cone.

FYI - One store by me has 2 or 3 Behringer alum 4x10 cabs onsale for $149 (yes, you read right, $149 for a new alum 4x10). They have been sitting there for weeks and weeks at that price. I'm sure there is a very good reason for that!

A few years ago I owned a 2X10" Hartke w/ a seperate paper 15" cabinent and it sounded really good. For power I had a Hartke 200w head.... before it frizzle-fried.

not to go off topic, but has anyone else notice that the poll results add up to 103.16%. last time i thought, polls usually only add up to 100%. maybe its just me.

It is just you. Math is really more of an art than an exact science. Or, so my accountant says.

I have a 2.5 xl that I use very often in certain situations. I would like to have another to make em go 4 ohms. You can carry it with one hand. I used to have a 410 xl too. It was great. Band loved it. But it weighed to much, like all 4x10s, and I sold it. That's another thing, they sell fast on ebay or in your LMS.

I'll agree with both of these statements. Although these AlumaBass cabs aren't made any longer, they are the only decent/good sounding aluminum speaker cabs I've come across. Much better than Hartke or Behringer stuff.

They look cooler too, but are up there like the Behringer stuff in the weight department. And can be had fairly cheaply.

But IMO I definately still prefer paper anyday.

Perhaps that's just what Behringer is doing to the music world?
