Didn't want to put too many on one reply.
Here's a cool trick. The Gibson bridge spacing was too narrow for the P-Bass style neck and pickup, so I adjusted it. I ground new slots and filled the old ones with solder.

The back is from the donor bass's damaged ribs. It retains all the original patina.

This project is excellent. Through and through. You did an excellent job, and the owner can enjoy playing his bass again. Really is a one of a kind bit of kit.

I personally feel that the knobs let it down a little, it might have been nice to see wooden knobs fashioned from the old tail piece.
Or something along those lines.

However I love the use of the wood on the back, brilliantly done.
