Ha! just got to the rickresource Suzy Arden guitar thread. These guys changed the pickguard colour and nut (all reversible, didn't glue or unglue anything) and there was a 14 page flame fest.There was a dude a coupla years ago here who set his basses on fire to create very creative (and cool imo) effects on his finishes. Similar sort of backlash on his threads. I never understood the freakout. I'd love to see a 3TS with Tort pre-CBS fed through a wood chipper and the video posted here. The TB reaction would be golden. ;-)
The finished bass that came out of this is certainly one of the coolest creations I've seen come through TB. Shows a lot of skill and care and love for the materials at hand. Cheers.

The pickup is a Seymour Duncan Antiquity P-Bass. Yes, flatwound strings.Incredible!
Did you wind the pickup yourself? Is it strung with flats?
