Build thread - Martin Keith Guitars Modified SC 5

A few people have asked for more pictures....sorry for the delay! I will say that the neck/body joint is solid and allows for easy access to all the frets. The myrtle top is thick! Don't know how thick, but will try to take a picture.

Mind if I ask how much?
GASing for one of Martin's basses :bassist:

I forget the exact price of Chris's bass; he picked it up used. I'd prefer not to disclose the price I paid for my new bass; it might not be too helpful anyway since what you want for your bass (woods, construction, electronics, etc.) will affect the price you're quoted. I'd email Martin at [email protected] and let him know what you're interested in. He's great with responding to email. Tell him I sent you!

I considered several other brands before deciding to go with Martin Keith, and thought that having him build a bass was the best value for me, particularly when I considered his experience as a full-time luthier for Veillette.

Well, almost a year later, and I'm still loving my bass so much that I've ordered another from Martin Keith. This one will be a fretless hollowbody...I'll probably start a thread soon. :)

Played this bass at a gig this weekend, and I'm still over the moon. No pics though. :(

I did loan it to my daughter, who took it into the studio for some recording. Here are a couple of blurry cell phone pictures.

Nice bass. I was on Atlanta Bass Gallery's site yesterday and found these basses. Never heard of them before, but from the age of this thread I guess they been around for a while. I play and Elrick now, but when I saw that Gloss Black Elfin 5 I had a stroke. That bass looks killer.:hyper: Not a lot of room for slap, but the body design seems very comfortable.

What are the price ranges for these basses? I know that the different woods and other options will change the price, but are we talking Elrick prices or Fodera prices?

Much thanks.

Thanks guys. I didn't need much slap room, so the spacing is my fault! If I order a third, it would have the neck pickup pushed a bit back, just for a different sound. But, I'm quite happy with the two I have. Both were well below Elrick prices. Here's my fretless.
