Building a pedal board so you can loop pedals in

I just watched this video of Sean Hurley discussing his recording set up (link below). At 3.28 he starts talking about how everything on his pedal board is on loops to keep the signal he's sending as strong as possible.

I was wondering the best way to go about building a board like this? Is it best to just get it built professionally? I'm based in London (UK) if anyone has a recommendation. Or is it something that is doable at home if you purchase the right selector and know how to route it?

Not too long ago, true bypass fx loop switchers were really hard to come by and/or obnoxiously expensive. Now there are good big brand options out there from Boss and Voodoo Labs. Still pretty expensive, but they also have cool options so you can, for instance, create programs and activate multiple pedals with one stomp. I even just searched "loop switcher" on Amazon and lots of budget options came up. At the same time, more and more pedals are now true or buffered bypass, so the fx loop switchers are less of a game changer than they used to be in my opinion.

I used to build my own and it's *a lot* of work. You may be able to find some music electronic geeks in your area who could custom build something, but it likely won't be cheaper than the brand name stuff, nor will it have the cool options...
