Building the ultimate Punk Bass

I thought the ultimate punk bass was a P tied to a car and dragged around a few miles and then refinished with stickers and spray paint...
Sorry. Like the OP, your bass is too nice to qualify as "punk". Your pup alone would buy two punk basses. Maybe if you throw it out of a moving car it might qualify.
Oh, that's not my bass. Though one of those but reliced to death would be bitchen.

Look at what bass Paul Simonon (The Clash), Fat Mike (NOFX), Jay Bently (Bad Religion), Matt Freeman (Rancid), Chuck Dukowski (Black Flag), Karl Alverez (The Descendents) etc etc etc...plays.
Most of the time it's a Fender P or J bass or something they got at a pawn shop. Fat Mike switched to playing Danelctro's because of his back problems.
Not trying to dissuade you from making a bass that you love to play and that you think is cool, but punk doesn't have a "style" of bass.

Forgive me if someone already mentioned this...
Deedee Ramone, Paul Simonon, and Sid Vicious (three founding punk bassists) all played precisions. At least put a P pickup on it somewhere.

Pretty much only Paul Simenon plays a P. Jay plays a Jack Casady, Matt Freeman plays a Rick, Alvarez plays a ton of different basses, as does Chuck Dukowski.

Keep in mind that the people saying a real punk bass is a beat-up P aren't necessarily fans of the genre themselves.I love punks.

Er, I think it's a bit odd to include Sid Vicious in that one... half the time his amp wasn't even turned on. I'd consider Matlock to be more of a founder.
How about you just do whatever you want and not concern yourself with random people's ideas. That would seem pretty punk to me.
Also that design looks pretty awesome to me. If/when you build that, post some pictures.
