Double Bass Bunny Brunel EUB?

I was at NAMM 2010 in Anaheim and wanted to check out Bunny's EUB but couldn't make it by. Did anyone have a chance to check it out? What are your impressions?
I personally play a Carruthers SUB-1 and I like it. I have bought Belmont a KYDD Bass (41.5" scale that appears to be an Aria with an electronics upgrade) and it's a little slight and delicate for my tastes.
Bunny's bass looks promising, but I've never been a fan of tripods as opposed to tummy rests.
Any impressions? Opinions?

That's a sweet price, especially compared to the new price, but I'm pretty satisfied with my SUB-1. I will definitely watch it though, thanks!

Looks like a substantial joint where the bass meets the stand... best ive seen imho.

I remember seeing Bunny playing an EUB with Chick Corea back in either late 70's or very early 80s. Wonder if that was this bass. I remember it had a substantial scroll. The Corea concert was on PBS.

I didn't play it at NAMM, but Bunny was tearing that thing up! Sounded good to me, but a combination of the NAMM noise floor and (IMO) Bunny's extremely light touch and low action made it sound a bit like an electric fretless rather than an acoustic double bass. More midrange? More sustain? Less thumpy attack? Not sure what it was.

I'm sure it could sound however you wanted with a different setup though.

How does the KYDD sound? Those are the tiny stick instruments, right? They are certainly affordable from what I've seen.

The one that we bought for Belmont is a full-size (41.5" scale) Aria that Bruce Kaminsky did an electronic rehab on, so it's not one of the 30" or 36" scale instruments. It sounds pretty nice, but I prefer the sound and feel of my Carruthers SUB-1. I have to address a jack issue on the bass and I'll report how it works out.
