I sold a blonde jazz bass with a 1964 neck on it. Went to a happy home. I had actually ordered a quartersawn vintage spec Jazz Bass neck from musikraft to go on that bass, but went with the 64 instead. So, now I have this neck on order, but no body to put it on....
Enter my new project! This is going to be a clone of a 63-64 Jazz Bass in Burgundy Mist Metallic, with matching headstock.
I just recently got a new job where they're paying me triple of what I used to make, so this is my little celebration hah. Ok so those of you who follow my builds will know the basic specs of this. Lightweight MJT body and musikraft neck, in burgundy mist. Gotoh Res-o-lites, Duncan Antiquities, and a spitfire mint pickguard. All the good stuff.
the neck is a pretty cool spec. Veneer dark rosewood fretboard, clay dots, and quartersawn maple. I chose quartersawn maple to help strengthen the skinny jazz bass neck profile.
These builds usually come in at around the 8 pound mark, will be nice and light for 4 hour gigs.
I already have most of the parts, including the spitfire guard. I went ultra light relic for the guard.
But yes, this will be a very fun project. Should look something like this when done.
