I've done some parts swapping recently and have come up with a more-or-less new bass, so time for NBD.

I took a chance on a Burgundy Mist (BM) body and ended up falling in love with the color. It plays and sounds great. My wife says it is my forever bass and I agree with her.

• Warmoth SS alder P body, burgundy mist metallic
• Warmoth wenge neck, rosewood 'board, blocks, 32" scale.
• Mother of pearl pickguard to match the blocks
• Gotoh 404 bridge
• Gotoh Res-o-lite tuners
• Total weight 7.6 lbs
• Balances great on the strap, not neck heavy at all.

The bass is short enough it fits in an electric guitar case

So is that body specially routed for the medium scale neck or would that neck fit basically any standard P bass? If so will the bass properly intonate with the bridge in the usual position?

The short scale warmoth necks fit their short scale bodies only. It won't fit a standard body.

Right, the SS bodies are for only their 30 and 32 scale necks. Of course they have full size bodies for the 34" scale necks.

I grabbed this body because it was in stock (unfinished) and was right at my target weight of ~ 4 lbs.

I wouldn't have thought of that color with that neck, and I haven't seen it before, but it really works. Very special and unique.

Fender did the shell pink with rosewood neck which is where the inspiration started for this.

Exactly!
No big deal, really, but sometimes I wish I could order one of those custom Calton cases.

That's a great looking version of burgundy mist. Many others look too pink.

Cool...I'm getting a CS 5-string version for my budget Yammy. If Geezers didn't exist, I'd be playing SPB-1's. Great great pickup.

One thing I REALLY don't like about the SPB-1 is the wires. They are very stiff, almost like they're solid. I'm afraid they'll break right where they are connected to the 42 gauge pickup wire.
