I said a viking funeral. I want the flaming longboat shot out of a cannon over the crowd. The risk of injury would be assumed, going to a "Brendan's Dead Festival" and whatnot. I'd be burning a bit before that, mind you, so my corpse would be pretty well incinerated by that point. If not, hell, I'd be the first charred corpse to crowdsurf during a major music festival.

But then I lose chance to photograph a huge flaming longboat under full sail over the heads of thousands of concertgoers. Un-photoshopped.

Yeah, it'd more than likely killa few people, but like I said, a dead vs. wounded count in the article would be nice.

"cat's home" was a flippant comment.

the amnesty international comment was a serious reflection on the pressing needs of humans throughout the world for representation and support against repression.
and the fact that money spent on dead people could be so much better used to help living suffering people, for example the tsunami survivors.

not necessarily it could be laid out like this, the boat would ignite above people's heads, then go spiraling down into a pool of gasoline that would subsequently explode into a massive fireball, with any luck your body would be hurled really far upward, and then inevitably land on someone's lawn.

Well, yes, but then it's only under full flame for for a bit there. I'd want a full on apocalyptic hell-craft airborne for as long as possible, you know?

I want to burried. My grandfather who I loved very much was cremated and it feels so sad to see someone like that being spread out in a stupid piece of lawn, amongst countless others...It isn't even that person. It's just a heap of ash they get out of the oven.

Anyway, great choice MM. I too want to be burried somewhere remote, rural, beautiful nature.

as i stated in my earlier post , i want to be cremated ...

the ashes are put into an urn , then given to the family to do with as they wish .
i guess you could spread them out , but here , the law says a big NO to that practice.

my father passed away this past July ,
was cremated and buried , along with a few personal items , at a National Cemetary here in Texas ...

I find it the ultimate act of human arrogance to continue to claim space on our precious planet after dying.
I have no problem with memorials/monuments, per se, just the endless wasting of beautiful country side. It just seems so silly and selfish, both for the mourning and the mourned, to forever devote a a parcel to someone who doesn't need it.

I guess even after all these years I'm still a big, fat, agnostic treehugger.

If you think being buried is selfish (:confused:), then so is being cremated. If your ashes are spread, someone could choke on them! But if they're in a jar, you're using a jar that could be used to hold something like water or blood that would keep a dying person alive. Yes, you could say "you can make another jar, you can't make more earth", but you'd be wrong. The Japanese already have their cemetaries on top of buildings. There's plenty of room left on the world, anyway. Don't worry.

but in all seriousness I don't care if I'm buried or cremated but before i die I'm making arrangements to have a BIG party. I remember before my cousin died I promised him I'd throw a big "Celebration of Cory's life" party and I did. It really helped all those who attended deal with his very premature death. He was like a brother to me (we were actually roommates for a while).

I would like all my musical equipment to go to any kid who wants to learn but doesn't have the money for equipment

everything else goes to my wife and she can do with as she sees fit. My BTB is to be buried with me if I do in fact go in the ground. I figure it's only fitting that my first bass be my last bass.
