I can barely express how comforting it is to hear this master's unaccompanied performance begin with an not-perfect fifth. I woulda done that!

Of course, starting right after that he sounds like Buster Williams and I don't. Every time.

I started a thread about Buster a few years ago and mentioned seeing him play a solo piece that started with the Concierto and then moved to Summertime, and how beautiful the whole thing was

I've always liked his playing, but the clear sound with the thinner strings (as well as imperfect fifths!) is something I've arrived at myself, so I really need to go deeper into his work. I really love his sound.

Just finished streaming the film. Highly recommended! A great mix of stories, philosophy and enjoyable playing. Buster comes across as a really thoughtful and kind guy.
