I agree. Why half-ass it with only 17 strings. No thanks.
Well, at least there is a string set available for it.
This is incephenious; anything over 16 strings is gilding the lilly.
No wonder they had to discount it,that bridge pick-up is way off....Bad quality control issues.
It's a hoss. Elwood with ZZ Top is playing something like that, I gather, though probably just for show.
Some really great musical ideas on latter two videos, especially when he finally stopped overplaying the lower bass lines. Thanks for posting those.

I'd call it an electric harp of sorts and capable of producing some really fine music in the right set of hands.
The Chapman Stick…the original was 10 strings (6+4…a standard guitar and bass with a single neck) this is a 12 string (6+6). First production model released in 1974.
NS Design Stick is only 8 strings (4+4), designed for Chapman by Ned and still available.
The Warr guitar caused a huge uproar in stick-land. Trey Gunn of King Crimson was a Stick player who was an early adopter while Tony Levin stayed with his Stick. 14 strings (7+7)

An eternal TB question might have been answered if this is 'The Best Bass for Metal'
I suspect that re-stringing it costs more than its purchase price.
