Buyers beware!!!!

I think the op took a risk but circumventing the paypal fees. I think the seller couldn't refund the fees as he didn't have it, he was cab heavy cash poor. I think if the op wanted a refund he should have gotten one, however I would have taken the $1100 cab and bought a cab at GC to use for a week and return...(that is just me).

All well and good, but it's pretty lame of him to use the Paypal personal transaction. Dealing with transaction fees is part of doing business.

For most people wanting and buying a Schroeder cabinet, nothing in this scenario would have been unacceptable. Damage wasn't a reason to no longer want a Schroeder cabinet.

Strictly speaking, the OP didn't primarily want a Schroeder cabinet, he wanted a cabinet "right now."

I'm in general agreement. Normally, someone who's shipping 50-60 cabs a month would have a merchant account (take credit cards). However, I have no problem with a business that decides not to accept any electronic payments. It's their prerogative to forgo some sales in order to reduce or eliminate third-party costs.

But evidently, this seller wanted the benefits of electronic payment without the costs, which include fees and buyer protections. I do have a problem with that.

Majority opinion here seems to be "cheating PayPal is ok; as long as he doesn't cheat me, he's still a good guy". :hmm:

Just say the name of the dealer for f&$# sake. If you were talking to a buddy you would tell them so you may as well say it here. Im sure if they were wonderful you wouldnt omit the name of the business. Perhaps them seeing folks talking about them might drive them to change the way they word things on their website or perhaps change their business practices or customer service.

I don't think the OP has a problem, I think he created one.

He ordered a cab, he will end up with exactly that cab in new condition.

Refunds are optional, not mandatory.

IMO he has no room to gripe.

+1

And he got upgraded. If that cab was unplayable I would hate to see what he thinks of regularly gigged gear lol. Never heard a rattle you could hear at stage volume. Handled well by the mfr. Imo.

.029*650*55*12=potentially $12,000+

Vendor/builder has a cute scam working there. IMO ught to use some of it to invest in better cab lining AND better packaging, as both are deplorable.

And OP, you effed up.

Both sides are wrong several times here. IMO neither had altruistic intentions.

I'm afraid this is all going to end like the last season of "Lost".

Is the cab builder the smoke monster and the OP the polar bear? I reread the emails, but I cant figure out which episode I missed that explains everything.
