Buying a new bass and would like some input

So like the title says, I got a bonus from work and I am looking to purchase a new bass. I want something that will stand out tonally from the basses that I already have (an Am pbass and a warwick corvette 5). I play mostly rock music (my band has 2 guitars) so something that can cut through the mix is important. I am looking to spend about 700 unless i can unload an extra guitar then i would have about 1000. So, i was thinking about picking up a used bass of some sort. So talkbass community, which basses should i consider?
