buying a new bass

I'm goning to buy new bass and I want to tell me some good manufacturers. my budget is around 1300 dollars(900 euros). I live in Europe so I prefer to buy one from here.
I found this and I love how it sounds but I don't like how it looks. I think it's little bit important, bass is like a woman..

I hope that by 'new', you are also looking at nice used basses.

yes..a nice used bass is nice for me too. I prefer bass which don't look like fender one.
Does anyone know where I can find a G&L 2000 in europe? Is there any store which sells these?
