Yes, you missed the point. Worn paint and neck are not badges of honor. Any goober can ding and scrape a bass; it *means* nothing. It does *look* cool however, which kinda is the point imo.

Am I the only one that is missing the point here?
What if you buy a used bass someone else wore in? Does that make you a poseur, unworthy of using an instrument someone else has 'earned the Mojo on?
The argument doesn't stand up.
It has nothing to do with with impersonating the military in any way, shape, or form, either, by any stretch of the imagination or tenuous connection to a spurious argument.
Get real, my friends.
...I will say the new roadworn MIM p and j basses are some of the best fender basses ive played in a while. Nothing to do with the finish or anything, just light and fun to play...
Oh look, another post knocking Road Worn basses. How original.
I don't relate to this either, sort of like buying jeans with holes in them, but to each his own.
Welcome to TalkBassChrist! I just asked a question. Forgive me for not reading every thread since the inception of this board.

To those who like roadworn basses:
Do you like road-worn women?

My bass looks like a beaver chewed on it as an appetizer. You can see the crack in the finish on the front … and you can see the chewed spots on the back in the first pic. The old blue man has had a helluva life.
