Buying from Adorama?

I haven't bought music equipment from them, but I've gotten other stuff.

Basically, anybody who knows how to safely ship large camera lenses costing tens of thousands of dollars is somebody I'm willing to trust with a bass.

For photo supplies Adorama and B&H are stupendous. I've experienced some pressure sale tactics from 42d Street, never from Adorama or B&H, they don't need too. The repair desk at B&H is fun because those Hasidim are like craftsmen from the "old country". No bull. Maybe the eyeball.

I've even been to their Manhattan location... it was like a cross between a beehive + Charlie and the Chocolate Factory! From what i remember decades ago, there were conveyers carrying product orders going above your head on the sales floor, & Hasidic dudes with the curls in suits practically sliding down firepoles to get around. This just got a little complicated. Yesterday I was able to apply a coupon code for a discount. I saved the items in my cart and came back today to finish the order... but the coupon is no longer valid. Tried calling customer service but they're shut down for the Jewish New Year. We'll see how this plays out. I may have just missed it, but hoping customer service will help me out. I'll let you all know how it goes!

I kid :D They're just a random internet find, but dang! ...i'd go check the band out :roflmao:

(Adorama has always been a top notch outfit for photo gear for me in the past. If they have something you can't find elsewhere, i wouldn't hesitate to order from them.)

Ha! Nice.

I'd be shocked if they were cherry picking instruments, though, having shopped there for years. Just the vibe of the place is all about volume and very spotty in-store service. Their used cameras have always been an utter disaster too, which tarnishes the brand a bit.

But hey, go for it. I just personally wouldn't buy a guitar online from a shop that does not have techs looking at them first. Maybe Adorama does, but I'd bet against it.
