Buying my second bass - Decisions..

Hello, everyone.

First post here on the forums, and I thought I'd try to tackle a problem I have.. I've been playing bass for about a year and a half now - I really enjoy it, and would like to think I'm progressing well.

However, I think it's time for me to move on from my Ibanez GSR200 to something a little better. I've been looking at other Ibanezeseses within my price range (about £400), and some do look pretty good. However, I don't really play much 'metal' anymore, which Ibanez are pretty much good for, so it might be a bit wasted..

Naturally, I'd love something like a MM Stingray - I think they look and sound and feel amazing, but the price makes it impossible. I've seen some Trabens which look quite impressive, but I'd rather have the opinions of some fairly experiences bass players!

Bassically (sorry, couldn't resist), show me some of your choices for a great second bass :smug:

If you have an ibanez now, you may not like the neck profile on the Stingray. Id play a Sterling first and see if you like that. I have no clue how much money you're talking about and Im too lazy to convert it to US dollars.

I've played a stingray, and compared it to the sterling version too - I liked how they both felt and sounded. That's around 550-600 dollars, at a guess
