Buying new rig

I am looking into getting a new rig for my new gig. I currently have a 4ohm 2x10 cabinet which is rated at 175 watts RMS.

I would like to find a bi-ampable head which can handle my 4ohm cabinet to which I can add a 15 cabinet of a certain impedance that will be solid for many years.

I'm not rich (I am a musician after all) but am looking for something quality that will kick butt in a blues power trio.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

Yeah, I have run into that problem. Are there any 2x10 cabs out there that anyone knows of that are 8 ohms? I kinda doubt it, i haven't found any yet.

yea im pretty sure you can easily find a 8 ohm 210

im pretty sure aguilar is one of them. but again, pricey

Bi-amp means two seperate amps. The 2X10 will be on one side, the 1X15 on the other.

To the OP:

Try looking at the Carvin BX1200, or look into an older used Carvin R1000.

i was thinking the same thing, but i thought i might have been mistaken or something since i never really take notice of 210s.

Bi-amp means two seperate amps. The 2X10 will be on one side, the 1X15 on the other.

To the OP:

Try looking at the Carvin BX1200, or look into an older used Carvin R1000.

Another option, rather than the BX1200, for economy's sake, you could consider a carvine BR615. It's already got your 15" in it, and it includes the BX600 amp which is two ohm stable. The downside is that the BX600 part of that combo isn't enclosed, so you'd either have to use it as a combo at all times or build a separate case for the head.
