Buying off E Bay

Everybody has to start somewhere and if nobody wanted to be the first customer, how would they get any business? With being said, use your gut. If it feels off, don't do it. I think you would be protected by Ebay but it's still a hassle to deal with claims and such.
That listing has SCAM written all over it in seventy foot high letters of burning flame visible from the moon. You’d need to have undergone a lobotomy to think that’s anything like legit.
That’s two major continents, both with populations very much larger than North America, right there in the middle of nowhere. LMAO
I would usually contact the person and get a feel for sketchy or not. Go back and forth with questions. I even ask for texting or speak on phone. Truthfully, I stopped buying on eBay and use Reverb or even Craigslist.
I just want to echo and reinforce whats already been: unless the person is a well-established seller or store, Im not touching it.....and this applies to Reverb or any online source. Even with TB classifieds, it needs to be a member that posts frequently and has been here a long time
I've seen a similar scam with a lower-priced item (50 bucks?). Here's how it worked in my situation....
*Commit to the BIN option and make payment via Paypal.
*Within a matter of hours, you'll receive a fictitious tracking #. Actually, it's a real # but untraceable to your purchase, address, etc.
*Within 24 hours, you'll receive a delivery confirmation. Huh?...what?
*You file a dispute but receive an auto-response that the buyer / recipient must wait X number of days before filing.
In my case, E-bay caught on to the scam without any addt'l prompting and refunded my $$ within a day.

I've bought from eBay and Reverb for years and not once have I ever had an issue where I had a problem and didn't get my money back. It may have taken a while but I ALWAYS got my refund. The latest was a Reverb sale for a neck that wass Advertised as being an excellent condition, yet when I received it it had dings dance and minor cracks in it. When I contacted the seller he tried to blame it on me and not only that but was insulting and demeaning in his responses to my inquiries. I immediately contacted reverb and it did take them awhile to get it resolved. In the end the seller sent me a prepaid label and I did get my refund. However, had the seller not giving me my refund after I shipped it back reverb would still have paid me the money. the only hassle I had was my time to repack it and ship it back.
I've also had the same type of an experience with something I bought on eBay. In that case the seller refunded my money on a mug that arrived broken and I didn't even have to return the broken one. I had bought a inexpensive chinese P bass which I received without any problems. So, when the same seller listed some for what he called "closeout pricing", I bought three more. I was suspicious due to the price but went ahead and purchased anyways. Turned out to be a scam. eBay returned all my money and removed the seller from their platform. It did take about a month though.
That said. This sale seems a little bit suspicious but it's tough to tell. Sometimes if it's the first time somebody sold on ebay they might just be in a hurry to sell it so they price it accordingly. Then again, ebay has their "you get what you pay for or your money back" policy. In the case of an instrument that might arrive with a broken truss rod or issues not disclosed in the listing, ebay will refund your purchase price even if the seller has closed their account.
But it always buyer beware. If a seller doesn't mention truss rod in their listing I always message them and specifically ask them if there are any issues with the Truss rod and its functionality. I will also do the same exact thing for other hardware and electronics if something doesn't appear right to me and there's nothing mentioned in the ads. That way if I buy it and when I receive it there is something wrong I have a paper trail with the seller where they guaranteed me that there was no issue.

Geographic location has nothing to do with population.
In relationship to size, I agree Asia is a major continent when compared to the USA. Europe? I don't think so.
