Yeah, um, no, walk away. Especially if the price is too good to be true.
Yeah the Price is really good, if the person had some feedback I'd pull the trigger in a heartbeat..
No way. Not for $25 and free shipping.
Only way I’m buying a bass or guitar on eBay or Reverb is when the seller is a legit shop. And likewise, I’ve had 100% successful transactions doing that.
Pedals or small gear I’d take the chance any day. It’s not as much thinking it’s sketchy or a risk of being ripped off. It’s that some rando nice person won’t know how to pack a bass for shipping and won’t think to insure it for your assurance.

Scam alert-that price is below market value....too many red flags for me...and even if the bass is "real", if it turns out to look right but have a major issue (like a broken or maxed truss rod), good luck with that ;(

The Bay has been degrading consistently for a decade. The Verb also has scammers, but I can't really see myself trying to re-establish my frozen bay account in order to take the chance. I have no idea why fleebay froze my account. It's just as well.

I also noticed that.
I’ve been buying and selling on eBay for 24 years. Here’s what I’ve experienced when taking a chance on buying:
- If you don’t receive the item, you’ll still need to make a claim with eBay and wait to get your money back.
- If you receive the item and it is defective in some way, you’ll have to file a claim, prove what is defective, get a return shipping label, pack it yourself, and send it back — all before getting your money back — not worth the risk.

I'll buy from individuals as well as shops, but they had better have lots of transactions (selling, not just buying) with an excellent rating. Been doing it since they started, only felt ripped off 2-3 times, and on smaller items.

Run far, far away. Been an eBay member since 1999 and I've never once attempted to buy anything of notable value like a bass from anyone who hasn't been an established member with a solid few years of feedback.
Ask them to take additional pictures with something to verify they even own it like a current date, your name etc..
Listing also says, “21 or 22 frets.” Tell tale detail that maybe they don’t have it in their possession? Or maybe they just can’t count past 20.
Any online purchase is a gamble to some extent. But that listing is red flag city.
