By what age were you jaded ?

I think I was about 18 months old. I had just finished tearing my way through my weight class, only to be destroyed by some 3' giant in the championship fight. When I came to, I learned that he was a disqualified immediately afterward. Turns out that he was nearly 38 months old! That alone was sickening, but to add insult to injury, I was denied my championship belt due to the career ending damage that he inflicted. To this day, I still think about how that great belt, with its faux leather, slightly rusted rivets, and shiney new K-mart price tag, should have been mine.
That story makes me sad and angry at the same time. Extreme Youth Combat has been too corruptable for far too long. How many kids lost their youth? More importantly, how many kids lost their chance thanks to rampant rule breaking and the officials looking the other way? My hope is that these kinds of injustices can be ended before more kids get an already brief career cut short.

If there is anything good to come of it, it's than an upstanding guy like yourself will turn this negative into a positive. Now you're a trainer and you have a choice: continue the cycle of rule breaking....or train babies to fight eachother with the kind of honor you were denied.

Yeah, I was disqualified because of rumors that I was taking performance enhancers. Seems like they found high levels of HGH in my system. Who knew?

I think I became jaded when I started listening to Blink-182 at about 13 years old.

I think in didn't really happen will I was 14, my father and mother had gotten a divorce, my mother said that god spoke to her in Numbers and said she should marry the pastor(he declined), I lived with my dad who emptied my bank account (a had saved everything since birth, paper route, birthdays etc...) tried to guilt me into being nice to him, at 14 he would not let me in the house because he had a woman over. At that point I started stealing my cloths (because I had no income and was not allowed a job at 14.) never got caught. I stopped all this shortly after, but it was a time in my life.

Lets see.... then again at 17 when I won a full ride scholarship for my first year at ball state university for a jazz solo I performed. I happened to have had a a drink of jim beam someone offered me on the bus ride to the competition. Someone in my band told on me. I lost the scholarship, and was removed from all extra curricular activities....really good way to help a kid starting to try drugs right:eyebrow:

From 14(after stealing) -about 17 I had been playing at a church 3 times a week and being televised! One day during worship I look out as I play a solo...just me... no one else. close to 2000 people are face down in front of me moaning, speaking in tongues, and praying. I left right then and there and never went back. See signature for how I feel about people and their crusades for souls!

My then girlfriend left me for the drummer of a band that was just starting to make it. We were going to be married....and now we are. I understand that people will do whatever they want, whenever they want it. Morals only exist when its convenient because in the end
If you are not willing to fight for what you want, you deserve exactly what you get. She reminds me daily that no one will ever love me more than they love themselves. And that I can respect because if we all take care of ourselves than no one is left out.(there are certain exceptions to this in my mind. some do truly have the Poop end of the stick and I hope to spread the wealth if possible.)

My overall jaded view...

I am not perfect, and neither is anyone else. There is no right and wrong...there is only what happens. everything is a game. I have to fake having emotions most of the time because I just don;t have it in me to care about peoples petty feelings about how they look. If your fat loose the weiht or shut the **** up and accept that you are lazy and eat more than you should. Lifes hard...boo whoo whoo.

Death just seems like a part of life. Watching my 2 year old brother die slowly of brain tumors, head swelling, eyes rolling into his head....dying for a few seconds and fighting to live...sitting up suddenly and gasping for air.

That gets to me, the petty $*** that people pull, feel sorry for themselves...the drama that people magnify to give their boring
pointless lives meaning...I could give a used pair of guitar strings about.

Life is easier when you have an enemy. You have purpose through opposition. I think that is why people find something to complain about.

Most people work in opposition, very few decide what it is they love and pursue it. Like sheep we graze unwilling to take account for every action we make....and even as I say this I am on a forum typing because I have not the will to make myself arrange the pieces of my life into a more suitable fashion. It seems I still need communication...and this form of communication allows me to keep a distance from people so that I am not vulnerable to carrying for them too much, or letting them close to me.

So...I am jaded. To me jaded means that you do not believe the world is a kind loving place. I do not believe it is a bad place. its just a place and all things that can happen are permissible.

Have a day.

your sad/emo avatar made this story much more enjoyable to read because i had a visual image lol

Depends on whether you accept things for what they are or not.

Right. It was the expecting things to be handed to you part that was your setup for failure in the first place. To be jaded is to admit failure or promote a lack of enthusiasm or an abundance of apathy. Some people have it easier, but it doesn't always make them happier for it, and fixating on that is not healthy.

I cannot waste my time on that.
