Bypass pre amp on Bronco 40

Hello guys, im kinda of a noob on this subject. I use bronco 40 bass amp and a Zoom B1on effect pedal. The pedal simulates other bass amps and i really like the tone but when i plug it in the bass amp it just sounds so horrible. It has too much bass in it. I would like to bypass the pre-amp on the bronco and just use the speaker but i dont know how to do it. If someone knows how to bypass it can you explain it like im a total idiot . Thank you!

Not possible on that amp without major surgery.
The Bronco 40 has its own bank of effects and amp simulation. Some of the settings are stored in memory. I would start by turning all that off, as it may be interacting with whatever is coming from the pedal. It may be easiest to reset all the settings to default.

Just to be sure, your signal path is:
* Bass --> Zoom B1 --> Bronco instrument input
What does it sound like direct, without the Zoom?

But I'm hoping the advise is useful for the newbie so he doesn't go wild on it.
@agedhorse did you have anything to do with the design of the Bronco 40? I was under the impression you were with Fender for a stretch.

not too good to be honest. It sounds way too muddy. The bass knob is all the way down and there is waaaaaaaaaaay to much bass. I will change my strings to see how it is then. Maybe thats part of the problem. I will write again if the problem still persists.

Nope, that was a different design team.

The Bronco 40 has digital features. First see if there is a firmware update (see the advanced user’s manual linked to above).

Then use Fender FUSE software on your computer to communicate with the amp via the USB port. BTW, The USB cable that you use matters in case there are problems using it. There are features available with the software that aren’t available from the panel. Maybe you can tweak your sound to give you what you are looking for.
